Here’s what happens when you choose a theme

Jan 17, 2023

One of the most important things to do in January is to choose a theme for the year.

Why?

>It sets the tone for your whole year.

>It gives you clarity.

>It helps bring in more of what you want without having to work so hard for it.

Last year, for me, was The Year of Delight and let me tell you, I got to know delight on so many levels. It showed up every single day multiple times in ways I never would have expected.

One such way resulted in me making this video about an advent calendar I purchased. It was the weirdest advent calendar I’ve ever experienced. Have you ever wondered how weird products come to be? My little video is my imagined brainstorming meeting to create the advent calendar.

It brought me so much joy and delight to make this vignette partly because I got to play dress up (with wigs!), partly because I got to be on camera (even though I was filming myself) and partly because it was something out of the ordinary. I hope you enjoy it too. (It made me laugh out loud while editing it, which I think is a pretty good sign.)

Without my theme, I doubt I ever would have made the video, thereby missing out on a heck-ton of fun.

This year, my theme is The Year of Wonder and Awe, and already, there has been a significant increase in wonder-filled and awe-some moments every single day. A theme is a powerful exercise. It’s basically like making friends with a new vibration.

Do you have a theme for 2023 yet? If yes, fantastic. If no, I hope you take some time to choose one.

If you could use some guidance in picking your theme or are wondering what to do with it once you’ve chosen it (there are daily practices that totally enhance the experience), consider joining the upcoming Visioning 2023 session that I’m hosting this weekend.

Along with choosing a theme, you’ll go through some very eye-opening and clarity-inducing experiences that will set you up for an intentional and peacefully productive year. Click here for details.

My favourite yoga mat is by Lolë

As someone who gets on the mat everyday, I’ve become pretty discerning (*ahem - picky) about my yoga mat. I would love to recommend the one I got from Amazon, but it’s just not as nice as the Lolë.

Here’s what I love about this mat:

>it has the best grip I’ve ever encountered (no holding on for dear life in Down Dog as your palms slowly drift away)

>it’s recyclable (hooray!)

>it comes with a carrying strap that can also be used for your yoga strap needs (dual purpose!)

>it comes in gorgeous rich colours (because beauty is important!)

>I got it at Costco for a smokin’ deal - even better than the Amazon mats

If you’ve been looking for a great mat, I highly recommend this beauty. Plus I love the name Lolë; it’s fun and sophisticated at the same time.

May you have an exceptional week gaining clarity on what you want out of this relatively fresh new year.

With visionary love and awe-some courage,

Christina

>Apparently not a poinsettia killer! Hooray! (Although every last leaf fell off, a whole bunch of new ones are sprouting. They’re not sparkly pink like when I received it, but - hey, I’ll take alive at this point.)

>Mystified by how a teenage boy can feel perfectly fine dropping clothes in the middle of the living room floor and then leaving them there indefinitely (How is this possible?!?)
